Making Friends at Summer Camp

I am compelled to share an important moment from summer camp last year. It took place in the middle of the summer and was an answer to a question I posed to our Action Day Campers. I asked them, "who in camp has made a new friend this summer?" I have asked this question before and when I do I hope to see each camper raise their hand. But, you never really know what the response will be. Well, I was pleasantly rewarded with every child's hand raised. I say rewarded, not because of anything we purposely do at camp. My reward comes from the fact that each child felt that they actually did make a new friend at camp. That what we do here at United Sports in our camp setting is not only play, but teach the values of respect, honesty and sportsmanship. These are the true values of friendship and we do that well every year.
