The Importance of Friends

For children, having friends and playing with friends is a daily way of life. Whether in the neighborhood or at school or on a team, children have more fun when they are with friends.

When attending camp, if a child has a friend to go with them, there is decreased anxiety and a better attitude to participate in camp activities. Its fun waking up knowing you will be spending time with friends in a place that provides a lot of fun activity. That feeling of “knowing” tends to build confidence and an increased feeling of security.

But also realize during your child’s United Sports camp experience, that there will be older “friends”, the counselors, who will also provide your child with a fun, welcoming and friendly environment. You will notice camp staff greeting everyone each morning.  Those smiling faces will tend to make you and your child feel welcome and help everyone start of each camp day with a friendly face.

And don’t forget, we offer a way for friends to come with campers. Every Tuesday through Friday is “Bring a Friend” day. Campers earn “friend” bucks for each friend they bring to camp. These friend bucks are then redeemed for prizes at the end of each day.
