The Importance of the Camp Tour

In order to set your child up for a successful summer, especially if it’s the first time a child is attending a summer camp, a tour of the camp facilities is a must.

The camp tour will not only allow you and your child to meet the camp director, but will also familiarize your child with the camp surroundings/environment.

The familiarization will diminish the anxiety a child may feel when emotionally preparing for the summer camp experience. When the time comes for that first day, that feeling of “knowing” what to expect tends to build confidence and an increased feeling of security.

During your United Sports camp experience, you will notice camp staff greeting you at each entrance to the facility. Those smiling faces will tend to make you and your child feel welcome and help everyone start of each camp day with a friendly face.

Summer Camp...A Great Place to Learn.

Summer Camp is a great place to learn.

At United Sports our campers will have the opportunity to learn new things and try new activities.

According to American Camp Association research, 74 percent of campers reported that they tried new activities at camp that they were afraid to do at first. And, those activities often leave lasting impressions. In the same survey, 63 percent of parents reported that their child continued new activities from camp after returning home.

And, the camp experience teaches more than just archery or a new sports skill. The entire experience is made of teachable moments, perhaps one of the biggest is how to live with a group of people. Campers learn to pick up after themselves, respect each other’s property, and to say “Please” and “Thank You.”

Our main focus here at United Sports echoes the above. Some of the activities at United Sports will be new for your camper. Whether its climbing the rock wall, playing a new sport or shooting an arrow, all of the experiences will take place in a safe and secure environment, all important aspects of making each child feel comfortable thereby making that learning experience more enjoyable.

In addition, our staff emphasizes and models the values of fair play, respect, honesty and sportsmanship. Campers will be aware of the importance of these values and reminded to make good decisions each day.

The combination of learning new skills and emphasis on good values makes summer camp at United Sports a truly exceptional experience.
